Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American performer and actor who made her name with clever raps that tackled gender and ethnic identities from a the most comical of perspectives. Then she branched out into Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents in Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was Nora's first instrument. The classical, jazz, and hip-hop training began as she was just a teenager. In college, she focused on her studies and majored both in women's study as well as journalism. In a short period of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also available. It wasn't until she graduated that her focus shift to music. Following her viral success via the Internet, her track My Vag was a reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually made its way onto her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also contained also were viral songs like Queef (body-positive) as well as NYC Bitche$1. The single that debuted was is directly linked to the album the album Awkwafinas NYC, her 2015 travel guide. Alongside having published a book as well, she also worked as a singer. Alongside early TV shows such as Girl Code and Tawk she appeared in films such as Neighbors 2. Storks as well as Bad Rap. In the year 2018, she was offered an array of noteworthy parts, including Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. Her EP came out, In Fina We Trust in June of that year.
